The MHPEC partners are pleased to announce that Garth Christison has been hired as the Carberry Site Manager for MHPEC at the Canada Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre (CMCDC).

In addition, Garth managed the Wellwood site for Ken Kane Aerial Spray Ltd. Garth also spent 6 years working on an area potato farm giving him a sense of the importance of potato focused research.

The Carberry site mission is to facilitate the development and adoption of science-based solutions for agricultural crop production. This is accomplished through the design, development, and adaptation of best management practices with a focus on water and irrigation management, crop diversification and environmental stewardship.

The site includes office and meeting space, 320 acres owned, and 53 acres leased with irrigation capacity. The site operates as a partnership between contributing stakeholders that welcomes additional research enquiries from other commodity groups and agricultural education institutions.
